2 Ways to Help Us

1.Starting November 9, 2024, pick up a backpack from one of our pickup/drop-off locations and fill it with the list of items required. $70 fills an entire backpack.

​​2. Donate below - we need to purchase 1,500 backpacks and include gift cards - that's $30,000 we need to raise immediately!

Backpacks for the Homeless is partnering with Donate a Car Canada to accept your car donation! You will be provided free towing, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Backpacks for the Homeless through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for Backpacks for the Homeless to benefit. You will receive a tax receipt after your car donation has been processed

“Hundreds of our clients here at The Ottawa Mission have been incredibly fortunate to receive Backpacks for the Homeless over the past several years filled with so many essential items to make their lives a little easier. How To Fill A Backpack

  1. Print out or save the list of items.

  2. Visit one of our pickup/drop off locations listed below for a backpack.

  3. Don’t forget your shopping list, now it’s time to go shopping  

  4. Fill the backpack with the items from the list.

  5. Drop off your filled backpack at one of our drop off locations below.
